Individual Ayurvedic Consultations and Marma Therapy Sessions with Susan

You can change your life by incorporating Ayurvedic life-style tools and techniques into your daily routine. Even small adjustments can have a huge impact! Let me help you find the way. During a private consultation, we determine your dosha (mind/body constitution) through pulse and tongue diagnosis and questions and answers. We’ll take a deep look at your current state of being and any imbalances you may have, how your lifestyle works for or against you, and create a plan to help you ease your way back to feeling great. I work with you to create a daily routine to restore you to full harmony and balance. You’ll learn how to come back to your natural way state of good health- emotionally and physically - through food choices, nutrition, behavior, exercise, meditation, breath work, career choices, family lifestyle and more.

The packages below are completely customizable to your needs. Call or text me for a free 15-minute assessment of your needs. 410-979-2096. I look forward to working with you!

About Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the 5,000 year-old Indian system of health and healing that relies on food as medicine, also incorporating yoga, meditation, strategic use of herbs and oils and following a daily routine that supports a healthy, sustainable life-style.

Susan’s Story

I became an Ayurvedic practitioner because I had such a transformational experience with the practice. While Ayurveda is not simply about weight loss, in my journey, I lost quite a lot of weight and have kept it off since 2007.

Breathe Ayurveda Study Course 2020

This is our second Ayurveda Study Course and I’m so excited to offer the class again. This year, the course will span 8 months, meeting once or twice a month + a weekend retreat, and a field trip to an herb farm. We will have guest teachers and speakers, hands on experience with cooking and making Ayurvedic products, study groups, satsang and private consultations for each student.

The class will go from January to August, with a retreat at Fox Haven Farms with Ayurveda cooking teacher and author Amadea Morningstar in April. My 2019 group has been meeting on weeknights but the feedback suggests that meeting on a Saturday or Sunday might be more convenient for people. So before I set the dates in stone, I want to wait until I have a group of interested people and then we will decide on our meeting times. Most classes will be 3 hours long, except for field trips and the weekend retreat.

Once you sign up and send your deposit, I will send you the reading list and full syllabus of classes. That will include:

  • The Mind/Body System as taught in The Charaka Samhita (Ayurvedic text) and theories of the Doshas and the Gunas

  • Yoga and pranayama techniques for your own personal practice

  • Introduction to Vastu

  • Chakras and Nadis

  • Ayurvedic pathology and home remedies

  • Dinacharya (Daily routine practices) and Detoxification rituals

  • Pulse assessment

  • Tongue assessment

  • Marma Therapy

  • Ayur-yoga

  • Panchakarma Basics

  • Use of massage oils, balms and trans-dermals

  • Use of essential oils

  • Popular Ayurvedic herbs and their usages

  • Basic Sanskrit terminology

  • Chanting and Meditation

  • Ayurvedic cooking and use of herbs and spices - Food as Medicine

  • How to conduct a consultation

  • Marketing your business

8-month Course fee: estimated cost $2495. Price may change up or down slightly as I confirm our guest teachers. Includes all materials (handouts, recipes, experiential items), guest teaching sessions, cooking classes, retreat weekend and all teaching sessions and satsangs; unlimited access to private facebook group for support, questions and answers; one hour private consultation session with Susan; my book, Ayurveda Beginner's Guide.

Not included: Recommended course books (book list will be provided); housing in NYC for visit cooking course with Divya Alter (TBD)

Payment plans can be arranged. $600 deposit due at sign up.

Upon completion of the course you will have deep knowledge of Ayurveda and can apply the teachings to your line of work, as well as to your own needs for health, healing, prevention and longevity. This is not a certification course, rather an exploration of this fascinating practice, without the pressure of quizzes, exams and practicums, although the knowledge you will receive is comparable to certification courses.
Space is limited to 12 people to insure an intimate learning environment, with ample time for questions and discussions. Please confirm at soon as possible.

In addition to this course, you might be interested in a few offerings from The Chopra Center, one of the places where I received my Ayurvedic certifications. This is the Primordial Sound meditation course:
